Chambliss Giobbi
iChambliss Giobbi lives and works in New York City. In his artist statement Giobbi says his figurative collages work on two levels,
'firstly, as objects of obsessive psychological and physical mutation, and secondly, as testaments to an intense personal courtship between artist and model.'
Similar to much of the work I've already posted, Giobbi's collages remind me of Francis Bacon's distorted figures. Showing a tortured, broken aspect of being human.

Rosa Verloop
Dutch artist Rosa Verloop creates sculptures from using only pins and nylon stockings. The tanned stockings resemble skin colour very convincingly to create melancholic figures that seem crippled with pain and emotion.
Sketchbook Work
Some initial notebook sketches and photos. First sketches are Christian Holstad inspired drawing using old newsprint, erasing ink and re drawing the image.
Next is Dafne Boggeri influenced art. His series of manipulated balaclava portraits led me to think of how I could reverse this idea by using masks and darkening out the facial features.

Rik Garrett - Symbiois
Rik Garrett is a Chicago based photographer that uses mixed media to explore the human form. His use of skin coloured tones blend the figures together to create unusual meaty forms. Also reminds alot of Francis Bacons' work.
